Svetlana Habirova of Russia lifts 132.5 kg in clean and jerk 75 kg category, setting a new European record, during the 13th Women’s European Weightlifting Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria, on Thursday. Svetlana won the gold medal lifting 240 kg.

Donka Mincheva of Bulgaria set a women's world record in the snatch Tuesday at the European Weightlifting Championships, lifting 85 kilos (187.39 pounds) to break the previous record by 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds).

The lift gave Mincheva the overall 48-kilo gold with 187.5 kilos (412.5 pounds). She also won the gold medal in the clean-and-jerk with a lift of 102.5 kilos (225.5 pounds).

Eva Giganti of Italy took the overall silver with a total lift of 170 kilos (374 pounds). She lifted 75 kilos (165 pounds) in the snatch and 95 kilos (209 pounds) in the clean-and-jerk. Olena Zinovieva of Ukraine won the bronze. Zinovieva had the same lift totals, but the Italian won on lower body weight.

Izabela Rifatova of Bulgaria won the women's 53-kilo overall gold, hoisting 187.5 kilos (412.5) pounds. She won both the snatch with 82.5 kilos (181.5 pounds) and clean-and-jerk with 105 kilos (231.5 pounds).

Spain's Estefania Juan Tello was second with combined lifts of 182.5 kilos (401.5 pounds) -- 80 kilos (176 pounds) in the snatch and 102.5 kilos (225.5 pounds) in the clean-and-jerk.

Siyka Stoeva took the bronze medal with 177.5 kilos (390.5 pounds) -- 82.5 kilos (181.5 pounds) in the snatch and 95 kilos (209 pounds) in the clean-and-jerk.
